Overture Caffeine Exhibition at Mocha Maya's

Hello!

Opening this Sunday, 05/04 and running for six weeks, Overture will be having a show at Mocha Maya's Coffee House and Espresso Bar in Shelburne Falls, MA.
In this show we will be focusing on twelve new works using watercolor and ink and soaked in coffee - in mind of this particular venue.
The opening this Sunday is from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.

5/4より6週間、Mocha Maya's というカフェでイラストレーションの展示を行います。
作品は、新しいものを12点。コーヒーで染めた紙に、水彩とペン画のミックスです。

ここに初めて訪れたのは１年半前。
その頃は、人気のためすでに一年先のスケジュールまで埋まっていて(!)展示は実現しませんでした。でも今年は、年始にあらかじめ声をかけてくれたのでやっと実現。
ちなみに、今現在も制作中…ほほほ　

同時進行で、２つのアニメーションを制作中です。
どっちが何に使われるかは、制作が進んでもっとハッキリ実現が近づいてからの報告になりますが、夏頃にはこの鼻血ブーの内容をお伝えできると思います。

10/21 Drawing

毎週末、土日を使って描きにきてるのですが、この日は日曜日にもかかわらず（普段、日曜日はあまり混まずにゆっくりしてます）絶えず人が来るような形で気がついたら全然描けてない…

説明したり、近況とか聞いてる間に時間は過ぎ、あっという間に夕方になってしまいました。

この日がたっぷり描ける最終日だったのになー
なんとかもうひとつの壁にも描いて、本日は終了です〜

Now that so many things are going on and also wrapping up, I really need to start writing more.
On Friday our show, Matatabi Matsuri, opened at Through the Music Gallery in Brattleboro, VT. It was a great night, the weather was perfect and we had a good turn out. Josh and Sarah are amazing gallery owners and were a huge help to the last detail, even setting up a flag post on the outside of the gallery/record shop so we could hang the Overture flag!
The show is up until the 24th and we are working on a wall drawing over the course of the show so anyone able to come up please do, as we are around quite often. Especially weekends.
Then we wrapped up another PlanB illustration this morning and are beginning to clean up the massive mess that developed in our apartment since the end of summer.
There are many more tricks up our sleeves yet and hopefully I will be on the ball to offer timely enough updates!


無事、個展「Matatabi Matsuri/股旅まつり」の初日が終了しました。

オープンの5:30の前から、たくさんの人が見に来てくれて大盛況で嬉しかったです。
初日からoneonenineに掲載されたイラストのオリジナルなどが売れて、良いスタートでした。

エントランスの壁面のタイトル部分をパーティー中に描きはじめました。これはこれから会期中の週末などに何度か訪れて大きなドローイングを完成させる予定です。

残念ながら（毎度の事ながら…）カメラもビデオも持っていたにもかかわらず全く記録しておりません。今度こそはちゃんと撮らなくちゃなー。

本日よりOvertureの個展「Matatabi Matsuri」が開催されます。

今は最後の用意をしている所です。 これからギャラリーに行って、細かな準備の後エントランスになる場所でのライブドローイングを始める予定です。 （写真は昨日の模様。ちょっと描きはじめてます。）


さて”またたびまつり”というタイトルなんですが、これは猫にあげたら喜ぶ木天蓼（またたび）のことではなく、諸国を歩いて旅する”股旅”の方です。

股旅 - 近世、博徒・遊び人・芸者などが諸国を股にかけて渡り歩くこと。 三省堂提 崑膽㍊ 第二版」より

一年に一度、秋のこの時期にいろんな国から旅人（股旅）が集まり、この一年で見てきたいろんな事を話し合ったり、飲んだり食べたりして一年の疲れを癒し、新たな旅の目的を見つける祭りの場…そんな風な事を考えてこのタイトルをつけました。


今夜、会場となる町ブラットルボロでは、一年で一番大きなギャラリーウォークが開催される日なので、ギャラリーだけではなく、普通のお店もギャラリーに変身して夜遅くまで多くの人で賑わいます。

そんな日に、ブラットルボロのギャラリー人気投票で一位（！）になった場所でやれる事がとてもありがたいです。

もうすぐ個展スタート

10月に入ってぐっと涼しくなりました。

5日より始まる展示の事で、昨日もギャラリーに行って一部のセッティングと打ち合わせ。
オーナーでカップルの、SaraとJoshはとても若くてしっかりしてて頼りになります。

そうそう、ここのギャラリーのTOPページでもこのフライヤー画像をドーンと貼ってもらってます。



ここで始まる展示が楽しいものになる様、最後の追い込み（特にsession）頑張っていきたいです。

ちなみに、大分の展示でやったような会期中のライブドローイングを今回も行うつもりなので、その様子もお伝えしたいと思います〜

Yesterday,we cleaned up our studio room for exhibition.
Because we need space to make big session（improvised drawing）again.

We had a busy days from making animation to wedding party until end of summer...Our studio was messy.

We will announce about details of our exhibition at Through The Music Gallery soon!

来月の個展「またたびまつり（仮）」を約3週間後に控えて、ちょっと整理整頓。

思えば夏、Animation制作〜完成から、そのままパーティーの準備になだれ込み…めちゃめちゃにとっちらかってしまった制作部屋。
そこを片付けて、大きなsessionを描けるようにしました。

テーブル位置などもゴトゴトずらして、中くらいのもの〜水彩画は、私がミシン台で使ってたテーブルを使用。
大きなsession用の紙は、テーブルに収まりきらないので床で描く事にします。

さー大きなsessionはもう一年近く描いてないんでどうなるか。
同じペンと紙を使うんだけど、二人の中では普通のイラストとは全く違うものなので、何が出てくるのか楽しみです。

ギャラリーの中の様子や、他のアーティストの作品、そして下の方にずずいと行ってくだされば、Overtureの作品も見る事が出来ます。

Littel cakes show-ForeverHome


We are currently showing two pieces at Little Cakes Little Gallery in NYC. It is part of the group exhibition 'Forever Home' focusing on animal companions and raising awareness and money for the New York City Animal Care and Control. Details can be found on the Little Cakes website.
The show started on Friday (07/14/07) and is connected with an exhibition of the same name featuring photography at the HPGRP Gallery. That show started on Thursday.

We are very excited to be a part of an exhibition at Little Cakes Little Gallery and to be part of an exhibition that is for such a tremendously good cause!

NYのLittle cakes galleryで、7/13〜8/19まで開催されるグループ展「Forever Home」にOvertureが参加しています。

この展示は、NYCACC（New York City Animal Care and Control）というアニマルシェルターのチャリティのために開催されるものです。

このAdventure Logでも、先日NYに行った際にLittle cakesを訪れてhannaさんに会った事をお伝えしたんですが、その後hannaさんからお誘いがあってドローイングを２点出品する事になりました。
展示は、２会場ですでに始まっているので、もしお近くに行った際はぜひぜひお立ち寄りくださいませ〜！
（私達は、制作のため残念ながらオープニングパーティーに参加できませんでした…会期中にに行けるといいなあ…）

ひとつは写真の展示で、HPGRP GalleryというH.P. France（アッシュ・ペー・フランスという日本のブランド）がNYに持っている現代美術のギャラリーで開催されます。
もうひとつが私達が参加しているドローイングの展示で、会場はLittle cakes galleryになります。

２月に開催された「the wurstminster dog show」への参加に対しての記念品（？）のバッジが届きました。すごくかわいい！
バナナはなんとなく置いてみたんで、記念品ではありません。

オレゴンのアートショウ、the wurstminster dog showが2/3からスタートしてます〜。



Ace hotelでのオープニングは人と犬が入り乱れて、押すな押すなの大盛況だったそうです。
写真は初日の模様です。（私達は行けなかったので、いろんなとこから拝借したものです。）

The Wurstminster Dog Show has begun! We weren't able to attend the opening, but pictures of the show are on flickr and it looks as though it was pretty wonderful.
From here on the pieces, including our own, are available for viewing and purchase at the wurstgallery.
If there is a particular breed you prefer there is even a search menu to select from.

2月の３日にオレゴンに出来た新しいデザインホテルAcehotelで展示されたあと、the wurst galleryで販売されます。

Here comes the Wurstminster Dog Show!

A one day exhibition on February 3rd at the Acehotel
 in Portland, Oregon, over 100 artists from around the world will show off their different dog breeds (ours was the Standard Schnauzer).

Unfortunately we cannot attend, but images of many of the different dog breeds can be viewed on flickr.

After the show all the pieces will be on display and for sale at the the wurst gallery.

Opening

Sunday night was a great start to our exhibition at the Flywheel. There was a show booked on top of the opening so things went quite late but offered a good diversity of sounds.
We are gratefully to everyone who came and checked out our illustrations.

フライウィール＠Easthampton

先週、いきなり決まったのですが、今夜からEasthamptonという町のFlywheelというアートスペースのギャラリーで展示する事になります。

バーモント州、TinderBoxで展示した作品も織り交ぜながら、いくつか展示する予定です。

今日は夜７時からオープニングイベントで、一緒に展示している人のライブペインティングやライブなどがあるらしいので楽しみ☆ 私達はちょっと急すぎて参加できなかったので残念ですが、近いうちやりたいなと思います。
そのかわりに、小さなポストカードを作って持っていきます。
グッズを作るのは初めてなので、これまた楽しみ。いろんな意見が聞きたいです。

Flywheel Tonight


Tonight marks the beginning of a multi-week exhibition at the Flywheel in Easthampton, Massachusetts.

This evening there is a good number of bands playing as well as live painting! But not by us.

We will have small postcards available for purchase, however! And of course out illustrations and digital prints are for sale as are personal orders.


There will also be free food and drinks, maybe even wine.


So it should be a very good evening.
