オープニングパーティーはすごく盛り上がったそうで、原画ラベルを貼付けたワインボトルもバンバン売れているようです。
東京に住んでいる人、この一ヶ月で東京に遊びに行く予定のある人はぜひ行ってみてくださいね。

Amargosa new album and release party!

As mentioned, yesterday (3/8) we went to Amargosa's self-titled debut album release party. Their performance was unfortunately cut short by complaints from the owner upstairs, but it was a good time nonetheless and we got our hands on a few copies of the cd (and a bonus tshirt each)! The photo above is of the band (l-r: Carson, Josh & Luke) and below are shots of our cd cover artwork.
昨日はOvertureがニューアルバムのカバーアートを作ったバンド、Amargosaのリリースパーティーでした。
人でいっぱいで、メンバーの3人も嬉しそうでした。 そして、会場で出来上がったCDをもらってきました。

Tonight (03/08/08)

A little late in the posting, but tonight we'll be at McNeill's Brewery in Brattelboro where the band Amargosa will be celebrating the release of their self-titled debut album...that Overture did the artwork for (pictured above...the cover, anyway).
Things start at 9:30, according to the band's website they will be playing as well. We will offer up more images of the cd and its artwork once we get a copy tonight.

今夜、以前個展をやった町バーモント州ブラットルボロのMcNeill's Breweryで、アルバムリリースパーティーを行うバンドAmargosaのアルバムカバーの絵をOvertureが描きました。
バンドのメンバーの一人Joshが、以前の個展会場 Through The Music Galleryのオーナーという縁です。

私達も、これから会場に向かってCDをもらってこようと思います☆
とりあえず元絵のみ、一足先にここにアップしておきます。
夏頃にはレコードも出す予定で、その時はこれにもう少しプラスしたものになると思います。

KITCHEN MOTORS NIGHT＠ABClub, Brussels ☆March,7 2008

Our animations, Rhubarbidoo (Múm video) and Sesame will be played at the Kitchen Motors night at ABClub Brussels, Belgium on the 7th of March!
Musical performers that night will be Kria Brekkan (previous member of Múm), Unnur Andrea Einarsdottir and Kippi Kaninus.
We unfortunately cannot attend, but are nonetheless very excited!


2〜5月にかけて、べルギーのブリュッセルで行われるアイスランドの音楽イベント「Iceland Aiewaves music festival」にて、Overtureのアニメーション「Rhubarbidoo」と「Sesame」が上映される事になりました。

上映されるのは3/7の「KITCHEN MOTORS NIGHT」です。

以前、OvertureがEPカバーを描いたアーティストKirakiraが、今回のイベントではオーガナイズ＆DJで、mumの元メンバーKRIA BREKKAN などが出演する予定です。Kirakiraのお誘いで、出す事になりました。

ブリュッセルに住んでる方はぜひ！私達の作品抜きにしても面白いイベントなんで、お友達がいたら教えてあげてください☆

KITCHEN MOTORS NIGHT feat.
KRIA BREKKAN + UNNUR ANDREA EINARSDOTTIR + KIPPI KANINUS

KITCHEN MOTORS is een IJslands platenlabel, think thank en kunstcollectief, gespecialiseerd in het opzetten van nieuwe samenwerkingen, concerten en projecten die de grenzen van bestaande kunstvormen overschrijden en overtreffen. De stichtende leden van Kitchen Motors - KIRA KIRA, JÓHANN JÓHANNSSON en HILMAR JENSSON - geven langs deze weg een forum aan artiesten die geen experiment schuwen. Dit collectief - die tijdens de loop van het festival trouwens allen met hun respectievelijke groepen op het podium zullen staan - richt zich hoofdzakelijk op muziek, met grote nadruk op elektronica en improvisatie, en zijn versmelting met andere media, theater, visuele kunst, ...

Animation soup 2008

来年の1月のお話です。

関西が拠点のアニメーション上映企画団体animation soupの上映会「アニメーションだョ！全員集合」にアニメーションで参加する事になりました。
日程は2008年 1/19〜20。昼／夜の部があって、一挙50作品と盛りだくさんです。

On January 19th and 20th the animation festival, Animation Soup is taking place in Osaka. Our very own Rhuubarbidoo, music video for the mum song of the same name will be projected at the showing alongside the work of many fine artists.
The festival will be held at the HEP Hall. Aya posted all the date and contact information above in all its lengthy extension.
We unfortunately will have already left the country when the event takes place, but we are very grateful to be part of such a fun festival!

MITSUBACHI／蜜蜂

日本ではもう春が近づいてきてるんでしょうね、こっちはまだまだ雪景色です。

東京・渋谷のclub asia LOUNGE NEOで3/30に開催されるイベント「MITSUBACHI」の第一回目のフライヤー・カードのアートワークを手がけました。

フライヤーはこんな感じです。


カードもこんな感じです…実物を見るのが楽しみです。

私達は元絵を描いて、蜂の住処風の彩色まで。
そして文字入れや全体の仕上げを請け負ってくれたのは、Staffでもあり、DJでもあるAyacowちゃんです。

Fatcat records night

Tシャツデザインがきっかけで親交を深めているfatcat recordsのイベント「Fatcat records night 」が、新年早々（？）催されるそうです。

過去５年間の本店所在地であるブライトンと、ロンドンの２カ所です。

一番文字の大きなNINA NASTASIAは最近のロンドンスカラ座での公演がすぐさま売り切れになる人気だそうです。見たかったな〜

It looks as though FatCat Records is reusing the T-shirt design we did for them in a poster/flyer promoting an upcoming show they are hosting.

It's nice when you unexpectedly see your work popping up again.

12月ですね

こんにちは。
マサチューセッツはまだ雪も積もらずにいます。もしふっても溶けるくらいに暖かい日々です。

■「犬のグループ展」でもお知らせした、オレゴン州のthe wurst galleryで行われる来年２月の展示の作品が無事完成したのでギャラリーに送りました。
いつもと違って、構成自体はとってもシンプル。それをガンガンに描きこんでみました。
近いうちにここでお見せできると思います。



■そして、フライウィールでの展示が今日最終日でした〜

あんまり会場には行く事が出来なかったけど（というか初日以外一回も行けなかったけど！）

最終日のイベントに参加して、なんと飛び込みでアニメーションの上映をさせて頂きました！

最初の頃は、人があんまりいないのをいい事に日本語でしか喋ってない「渦霧山」を流し
その後「DING-DONG YEARS」、「COSMIC TALENTO」
そして人が入って来た所で「SESAME」を上映しました。

これがアメリカ初上映。

お客さんの反応は「面白かった」「綺麗だった」と好印象の人や、
「今まで見た事がないタイプのアニメーションだ」と好評？かどうかわからないけど
とにかく珍しかったようです。
ジャパニメーションとは全く違うしね…

さー年末年始は、今まで出会った人や物、見返しながら来年に向けての作戦会議です。

いろいろやりたい事あるし、今ちょっと始めてる事もあるし…
